Amphora Grappa refined in terracotta

Softness, round taste and enveloping aroma. These are the qualities of Anfora, a Grappa that brings with it all the qualities of traditional wood aging with the particularity that its resting does not take place in barrels but, in fact, in amphora. A new technique that uses one of the most ancient containers known to man, terracotta jars useful for transporting and storing wine, oil, honey and other foods. The amphorae chosen by us are a blend of clay and terracotta, materials coming from Montelupo and Impruneta, Tuscan towns known since the Middle Ages for the production and craftsmanship of ceramics and terracotta. An innovative technique for distillates that we wanted to experiment, obtaining excellent results: the micro-oxygenation, double than the one which occurs with the use of the cask, enriches the Grappa in elegance and softness, thus giving the characteristics of aging without the classic taste of wood. Anfora is a Grappa made from a blend of pomace coming from autochthonous Trentino vines: 80% Teroldego, Marzemino and Merlot vines; 20% Chardonnay, Müller Thurgau and Moscato vines which give it typical and unmistakable scents and flavours of this territory.
